Going away party pics, new pics of our new stomping ground, plus some Emery updates
So I finally found the CD that had all the pictures from my Benaroya going away lunch. There were some really good ones so I thought I'd post them. BAD idea. Like I didn't miss you all enough already. Oh well. You all must know that there is NO ONE to replace you at my new job. Everyone is nice (mostly), but it's just not the same. I will acclimate, but I will always miss you guys!!
I also posted some pictures of a short hike Adam and I took with Emery yesterday. It was so awesome to walk for 5 minutes and be on a trail up in the hills. Idaho really is a beautiful place, and I must say it was nice not to be approached by any crazy people, heroin addicts or homeless people trying to bum change.
Poor Emery has been nothing but fussy the last few days. Turns out that that front tooth that hasn't come in is actually two teeth that haven't come in and the one that is next to the eye tooth (that is in) is coming in crooked and is pushing against the front tooth trying to come in. That front tooth is weird too, it's small. It's almost as if the two teeth were switched since the crooked one appears to be much bigger than the other. So it looks as if my son is going to be keeping that hillbilly look for a few more years at least! I just hope his adult teeth are okay. It looks like we'll be making that first dentist appointment a little sooner than I expected at any rate. Fabulous.
Other than his tooth associated grumpiness Emery is doing wonderful as usual. He's definately got the walking thing down and is still working on the running. His favorite things to do are play the Get Me game and the Whasthat? game. In the Whasthat? game he points to the usual objects (usually his piggy bank, the light switch or lights) and says "Whasthat?". If you name the object correctly (for this isn't a game in which he is wondering what the object is but more of if you know what the object is. My kid is a smartypants already, of course he knows what he's pointing to) then you get a big smile and another "Whasthat?" while pointing to the next object in question. It's all very cute of course.
This weekend I spent a good amount of time getting the house decorated for Halloween. After all, that is Emery's holiday, so I decided that I'd better start the training for doing it up right. Can't say it's very spooky (I'll work more on that in the years to come), but it is festive. Since I've never really been much of a holiday person I figure I'd better get practicing! Anyway, we're planning a nice costume party for the big day (only 1 week and 6 days- WOW!), and I've already got Emery's. I wanted to get a monkey costume for our little monkey but they were out so I opted for a frog one instead. He looks so cute!! (I know Rob, you hate frogs, but I love them and again this isn't all about you now is it? NO, it's not :) ) So, to try to keep with a theme Adam and I decided to go with a Frog Prince sort of thing. I'm going to be the princess, Emery will be the "before the kiss" prince, and Adam will be the "after the kiss" prince. Not bad for a girl who hasn't dressed up since 1998 (and that was half-assed) hugh? Well, Adam and I still haven't got our costumes so we're not home free yet.... Anyway, I am in shock that it's already been a year but I'm trying to get prepared anyway!
Well, that's all for now! Until next time, take care :)!
