Sunday is bike day

in the last blog that i did grannie annie said that there wasn't enough white space. i have no idea what she means half the time and this is one of those halves. for this go around i though i would just do a little photo narration. this is my first time doing photos and it is an exhausting process. so when mom says that she finally found time to do the blog she means it.

emery is doing awesome. it's been at times totally surreal to watch his personality come out. there have been a few proud and at the same time nail biting moments. one of those was at the library. emery was at a table with other kids playing with a plastic dinasaur. a three year old came up to take emery's away and he didn't back down. at first i didn't know if i should jump in and i decided not to. i just waited. they did a little tug of war and the older kid of course got his way. really though i think emery made the decision that it wasn't worth it. instead he went and played with a kid more his age that had crawled into the toy box. it didn't even phase him the least. the librarian did say "you know you're do something right as parents when you have a kid that happy."

emery is changing and sometimes it just springs up on you. this is one of those photos where, as a parent, i just have to say 'wow!'

this is emery in the hamster tube at 'planet kid'. it was brooklyn mayers 5th birthday party. emery had a blast.

emery has started to use sign language and it is really exciting. his vocabulary is growing at an awesome rate. in the top photo emery just finished signing, 'dad i would really appreciate it if you would allow me to finish this mouth full of chex. thankyou.' other signs that emery knows are: light, outside, bye, more, open, and one only he understands.

he is such a messenger in the making. water bottle, coffee cup and bike helmet. he just finished signing 'that for now he's content with an empty coffee cup', and 'hurry up dad'.
