Spring 2007

Well, spring is on it's way out now, but here's some spring pics! It's HOT here right now. My body doesn't enjoy the high temps like it once did. Thought I'd get used to it, but that's just not happening. I'm kicking myself for not getting air conditioning in my car. Also kicking myself for not getting keyless entry. I hadn't anticipated on having a kid and moving back to the hot summers of Boise. Oh well, it's a small price to pay I suppose.
As usual, Emery is doing great. He's honing in his how-to-push-Mommy's-buttons-skills and is testing boundaries each day. That's a two year old for ya. I find myself getting frustrated, then realize that its time to drop everything and go for a tickle fest. That seems to turn things around. Either that or time out, which I have recently instituted. Haven't really had a need for time outs, but that time is coming to a close. He's doing super though, and learning that there are consequences for his actions.
The last couple of weeks he has been turning on the politeness big time! At the park the other day I tripped over his ball and he said "Sorry Mommy, my fault. Sorry," then bent down and kissed my foot better. Then he looked at me and said, "Is that better Mom, that better?" I melted of course. He is constantly telling me thanks for anything I give him or do. I think it is great that he is learning to take accountability at such a young age, even if it's not really his fault most of the time. I really need to tape some of this stuff because it sounds so cute when he says it!
He is loving being outside, as usual. Water balloons are a HUGE hit, as I knew they would be. I almost didn't introduce him to them because I knew that that would be all he would want to do, which would inevitably drive me crazy, and it is and has but I'm still glad I did. He laughs so hard he falls to the ground when he gets pegged with one. Other than the water balloons, sprinklers are big this year (he's not afraid of them anymore :) ), as are bubbles. Grandma Billie finally got a bubble gun that shoots out bubbles and has been a blessing. One can only blow SO many bubbles...
That's about it for this edition of "Emery Update". I'll try to post more regularly. Yeah yeah yeah... :)
Next week Emery is going back East to Massechusetts with his dad for Great Grandma Toothaker's birthday. The whole Toothaker clan is going and I am sure there will be lots of great stories and pictures to post when they get back.

Still loves the hose. He's becoming quite skilled.

Loves watering the flowers. It's an intense job, obviously.

The long awaited Easter pictures....

I know it's a couple months behind, but better late than never right? Here's a few cute pics of the day. It was cold and rainy, but we had a good time anyway. And Emery got to wear his new galoshes that I just love. He had a great time finding the eggs. We only had a few so we just kept taking them out of the basket and re hiding them but he didn't seem to notice or care. Last year I'll get to pull that off I bet. Also the last year of filling the eggs with cheerios and dried cherries. Grandma Billie snuck a few jelly beans in them as well, so inevitably he picked through all the nutritious stuff for the sweet yummy stuff. It was pretty cute to watch, he was on a mission!

He's much better at getting those eggs open this year
