the other day i said to emery, 'dude! dad dropped the ball and didn't bring the right shoes for donnelley.' and emery asked 'what ball is that dad?' so it can be said about this blog. lately it has been facebook and slowly i have gained a facebook butt. anyhow this blog is for emery.
emery has his third season of skiing in and it is very cool. his uncle scott(he has two) and i were watching emery and gus ski together and we were able to project into the future of saying to the two, "ok you two meet us back at the lodge for lunch." that is surreal because they are going to go play on a mtn that has several hundred acres of forest surrounded by more forest and we're ok with it. its all about perception.  the relationship between emery and gus is comical because they are very polite to each other, 'thank you gus or your welcome gus' and gus says the same things. there are those times that are not as polite and result in tears but that just makes it all the more perfect.
emery has gone from toddler to peanut and it blows my mind. when he plays with other boys his age it is a slamfest. its like watching those old national geographic movies where the baby animals are really rough and tumble. same thing and watching the sometimes comment is, 'ouch that had to hurt' but they come up smiling and giggling then repeat it but at a more intense rate.
this year i had a birthday, same as the years before, and i noticed that while i am a year older emery is year bigger. when i realize how much he has grown i have these mild nostalgic moments of remembering just how small he was and how at one time he fit snugly between my chin and belly button as he slept on my chest. the drama is strong with him yes. i am just not sure where it came from because it can't be genetic, right? finally gus has given emery a nickname and it is 'emers'
